Twosome Fixed-Fuzz-Side vers. Fixed Fuzz stand alone

Hi Folks;

try to do my first post and first Question.

i own a fixed fuzz for a several years, and last week i could get a twosome for a nice second-hand-price.

i thought it will be fine, to have a second circuit on my board.

i´m only using a treblebooster and the fixed fuzz, enough for me :-))

first the problem was the Toneknob at the twosome, cause it works reverse; correct?!
but it does not work in the same tonerange then the one from the small Fixedfuzz.

the problem is the twosome has (on the fixedfuzz side) less heights, and i can´t get the same tone like with the fixed fuzz.

is this "normal"?
are they circuits different?
is there a way out for me to use the TS?

Fixed´Fuzz is version 2

thx andisch

The Fix'd Fuzz you have is a version 2 and that Twosome uses the Fix'd version 3 circuit. There are some tonal differences and yes the filter control works differently between the two versions.

I had a Fix'd Fuzz and upgraded to a Twosome and I found they sounded pretty much the same...I'm sure they vary slightly due to the transistors but they should be in the same ballpark...Kyle and the rest of the guys at Blackout are super helpful...maybe hit him up and see what they say...
