Algal Bloom in Pedal Chain

Just ordered one and was wondering where most place these? Right now my pedal chain is Boss TU-2, Dano TOD V1., RAT, Trachouse Red 70's Fuzz, and a Carl Martin Contour and Boost. I'm hoping the RAT and AB will play nice with each other.

I will experiment, but just wondering.

my taste says put it more in the front of the chain. but opinions may differ.

Agree with univalve. I place it up front but no need to put it first in line. I actually feel my boost sounds better after the AB and AB Synth so I'd experiment and see what works with your setup.

My ABsynth (similar to ABloom), is the 3rd pedal on my board of 10, directly after 2 other fuzzes. Doesn't have to be there, but I like it.

I'm having: tuner -> compressor/booster -> Fuck OD -> Shredmaster -> Algal Bloom -> EP-Pre -> others...

But I will try putting it as my first dirt pedal next time.

I spent a few days moving it around trying to convince myself there was a difference. It ended up first in my chain. I'm not saying there is or isn't a difference, but I haven't been motivated to move it since placing it there.

I have a Bloom, ABsynth and Phantom Octave on my board, and they are the first three pedals. The PO absolutely has to go first because it doesn't have the full "electric sex-tric" sound if it goes any later. I then had the Bloom, then the ABS, with the theory being that the Bloom is true bypass so wouldn't mess with the ABSynth oscillation (the oscillation on this pedal after a buffered Boss TU2 just doesn't work at all). I also hoped that the starve on the Bloom would affect the ABS in a cool way, but it did nothing of note. So since I was re-conceiving my board this week as I added some stuff, took stuff away, etc., I decided to switch the Bloom and ABS. Now, I really like it this way because the ABS oscillation/synth bass is intact and sounds awesome through the Bloom (Still with me?).

My board is now PhantomOctave>ABSynth>AlgalBloom>Boss DD5>QTron+>Freeze>M9>amp. And I saw that it was good.

well, i tend to keep the algal bloom toward the end of my fuzz line but before the modulation. example : phantom arcade>dark boost>ab-synth>wolf computer>algal bloom>great wall>and aardvarks>randy's revenge>cosmichorus>ghost disaster...
