I have a ton of germanium transistors and I can match/test them. I mostly have ECG102A and ECG103B. I also have some really high beta Hitachi and Sanyo transistors. If there is something you are looking for I can see if I have any.

never heard of them. what are the you getting for Hfe. high, low, average. what have you built with them?

ECG is, I think, Panasonic. Hitachi and Sanyo are pretty common names. All those Japanese companies made Ge goodies back in the day.

Last year our shop made an Overdrive that we called the Kraken. We had a germanium version, of which about a dozen were made. In the germanium Kraken I mostly used RCA transistors. But I did used the ECG 102A also which was made by Sylvania. I made a few with the Hitachi transistors which I liked the best. I have at least a few hundred germanium transistors in both PNP and NPN.

I've had good transistors with Beta as high as 500, most I pull are around 25. But what I consider useable is 70~120 hfe and I do still had a lot in that range. The high beta monsters are rare and always out of the Japanese stock, gain like an MPSA18 but not edgy.

if you have any npn germanium Hfe 300 - 500 I'll take 4 or 8 of them. I got a mojo triangle muff board from pigeon fx and the fs3699 (2n5133) I got are all 350 or lower. and if the price is right, I could grab some of the pnp Hfe 70 to 150 for fuzz face clones. whenever I find germanium for $1 each I buy a big batch. if its $5 or $8 I just buy what I need. oc44 and 2n270 are going for $8 each all day.
