Wonder if it smells like mildew, death, and dust even though it's "new" - every other Sunn I've ever been near including the few I've owned have a distinctive ugly smell when you open them up.

Had an old Fender Twin that sat for 3 years unused which led to ruined caps and some other repairs. Can't imagine 40 years of storage is a good for any tube amp? Don't see them letting you crack open that original box (devalued severely!) either.
