http://www.trademe.co.nz/Music-instruments/Vinyl/LPs-33-RPM/Rock/auction-388652573.htmThink carefully before you do, or you might end up like this guy. It's pretty funny I thought, especially some of the sellers comments. It's from trademe(new zealands version of ebay).

my friends pressed a drum N bass record and 2000 copies were off to stores in less than a month. they wished they would have pressed more. the dj was still playing out and they both got onto a label that cross promoted the independent sales un-intentionaly. then they both lost interest. I would have rode that wave for life if I had the opportunity. I love making music.

"our mate English Jon was drunk walking home one night, passed out in a bus stop after buying a copy of the album. He woke up, he'd had his keys, shoes, wallet and loose change from his pocket stolen - but still had the record. "

selling records is easy. making music people like is not a talent that everyone has.

I think inevitably every musician is going to end up with boxes of CDs or lps regardless of talent. Bands don't just wait to breakup after all the albums are sold!

My band made 100 copies of our Albumn (11 songs). We still have 9 left from the first 100. We had them made in May.

I pressed 500 copies of my old bands 7" and sold every copy within a year except two which are sitting in my collection (this was in 1998). The secret is to have either a monster or a good looking woman on the cover. Or some spooky demon in the woods. Or a picture of like, a really good looking meal that you'd like to eat.

so... a hot spooky monster woman in the woods offering you a really good meal would be the best selling album cover of all time
