on every demo I have seen of TGD, at some point the player turns the volume knob the the guitar down and controls oscilation with the tone knob. How is this done? I have been trying for weeks. I have tried every knob combo I can think of, tried 3 guitars (my LP with dimarzio humbuckers, Sonex with Gibson Dirty Fingers, borrowed a friends strat with singles in the neck, mid, and bucker in the bridge, and borrowed another friends p90 axe) So I know it isn't the pickups.

:wha?: :idk: Funny, it should scream and squeal mad, really easily, by either tone or vol knob of Your axe depending on the knob position. It doesn't work on every settings, and the guitar/bass vol and tone knobs do different squeals/dead radio channel noises/ stutter rhythm changes with every setting. Plus the knobs are pretty interactive so even the order of the knob tweaks can make difference really.

Regardless of that, as a key rule, keep backing the knobs and pushing the vol way past noon shit should start happening, birds drop dead from the trees and the neighbors dog starts to hate You. :animal:

Oh, and where is tehy pedal placed in the signal chain? TGD is very picky, it has to be the very first pedal for YOu to get everything out of that, and a buffer in front is just killjoy.

That's pretty common with pedals of the squealy squelchy nature, is it not?

my chain is:
guitar
tuner
wah
TGD
Internet
delay
sonic stomp
loop
amp

so it should be before the wah?

Before the wah and the tuner, too, depending on Your tuner and wah. Definitely YES if it's BOSS, or something similar buffered. I'd throw the wah out of the way, too, unless it's got true bypass. Besides, You might like to try it :poke: after the squealing TGD.

Yeah, many oscillating and squealing and squelching boxes - like AB-Synth for example - starts to really live immediately when it's the first in the chain.
