Bass guitar is a form of guitar otherwise it would no be called a bass guitar to say otherwise is silly and pointless. The offset part of a
Jazz Bass is the same basic shape as a
Jazzmaster. And don't listen to nieh for nieh is a known bass-ist

I know that it has an offset waist, and I would love to count them I have 2, and I love them, but I think this is pretty much a semantics issue. Basically the question is, when you think offset waste guitar do you think Jazz bass? And.....No I don't. Maybe it is a cognitive disorder but even though the dictionary definition would prove that a Jazz Bass is an offset waste guitar I still don't think it is. And you can't make me.

Yeah I thought it was and I thought that it was pretty much unquestionable. However there seemed to be a few people in the other thread who didn't agree and I thought it made for some interesting points. I also wanted to have a poll to go along with it, I made it so you can change answers too so if someone made a really awesome swaying argument you could change your mind.

No real argument just a mental block that some of us have.
Like if someone says "hey I just got an offset waist guitar" I would never think jazz bass.

But I also don't think Mustang or Jagstang or Jagmaster. That doesn't mean they aren't offsets.

Understood: It's about perception I guess, it's like Voyager, even though it is technically StarTrek, some people will never recognize it.
Or like the Phantom Menace: Yeah it's a Star Wars Movie but when someone mentions watching star wars, only three movies there are, not six.

it's not an issue of semantics
it's the same thing as "THEY'RE NOT POST PROTO ELECTROCHILLWAVECORE, THEY'RE AVANTGARDE NU DARKWAVE STEP"
