9 knob fuzz factory in progress

I've been working on designing this for about a week. it all started when my friend and band mate asked me if I could build him a pedal. he likes oscillating fuzz, splatty glitchy fuzz, and pedal noise boards. his muff is just a muff. so I came up with something so opposite of what he already has. he plays bass and guitar so its got switches and knobs for bass/guitar. just a sketch of how I'm gonna lay out 9 knobs, 4 switches, 2 footswitches in a 1590DD

Code: Select all

ahh well the muff fuzz is similar to a fuzz face but without the eletro. zvex admitted to starting with a fuzz face circuit. all roads lead back to the fuzz face. so yeah the fuzz factory and the muff fuzz aka muff overdrive are actually distant cousins. the muff fuzz is the only one out of the three that has clipping diodes. thats because it not very fuzzy. without the diodes it would be a pointless mostly clean fuzz pedal. my 9 knob thingy will also have clipping diodes cause its so easy to just throw it in there.

keep the names comin

I think you should go in a completely different direction and call it "Hotdog Water" or "Radioactive Boyshorts" or something.

Either way, looks awesome.

I would like to be #1 on the list for the Hotdog Water, whoever makes it. I propose that it be a really awful chorus with really really low output.

What... like an EHX Nano Clone?

This is pretty cool, I did once ponder replacing every resistor and making every cap blendable in a Fuzz Factory just to make some unholy beast but then I remembered I hate offboard wiring, couldn't be fucked to make a board mounted layout for that and that I don't like lots of knobs... this seems like a more logical step.

1. buy nano clones on ebay
2. relabel as hotdog water
3. :hobbes:
4. profit
