Catalinbread CB30

I've always wanted a Vox AC30 but never had the cash and haven't been able to part with my Twin. And I've been eyeing up the Carl Martin AC-Tone recently but never was excited about the price or the size of it. Hopefully this will be the answer to my jangly prayers. If it lives up to the quality of their other pedals, this one will rule. Hard.

Dig the new look of most of the pedals (4 knob DLS in plexi purple  ) though the new SFT/Fn5 look kinda balls.
Looking forward to hearing the cb30.

:?: I thought the whole reason they changed some of the finishes was to keep pricing down?

Don't remember where I heard that so I could be totally wrong, but I thought they were perfect at the $159 price point. Well I got my Manx from them for $105 so I can't complain.

I as well am looking forward to hearing this new CB30

Truth. I am massively disappointed by the graphics on the new SFT. Ugh. I try not to cast aspersions, but the old version looked SO much better.

Really? That one might be my favorite aside aside from the WIIO. For some reason it makes me very nostalgic.

Well, it's pretty subjective. I mean, they're definitely going for a period look, which I'm fine with. I just think they could have done it better.

I'm not a fan of the new aesthetics (of all the pedals), however, I am really looking forward to the DLS MK II. The DLS is one of two pedals I can't seem to live without. I'm guessing that fullness and presence knobs will be killer.

Why'd they change the WIIO? It was perfect!

the ac-tone is beautiful sounding. im excited to check out this cb30 too. the ac-tone and tbiac are both so good though, its hard to imagine how this might one up those. but seriously, for vox overdriven tones, the ac-tone NAILS it wonderfully. they can be found used on the cheap too if you some hunting. supposedly theyre making a single channel version.

Huh.

Well, I really want to hear how it sounds. I'm a big TBIAC fan.

I'm tending to not like the new graphics or the new prices.....though I have never owned anything from the Catalinbread brand. I just don't get that excited about the C-bread pedals for some reason.

They got new metal knobs rather than the plastic ones for the amp-like pedals. I'm guessing that's why the difference in pricing.

Eitherway, $190 isn't such a bad price for their pedals. I have a WIIO and think it's the bee's knees with single coils. Throw a Distortion+ in front and you've got a sound that cuts through the mix better than pretty much anything else I've tried.
