so i just hipped my 6 year old to GG Allin.
i did not let her see him perform but told her about his shite eating, blood smearing, dick stretching, piss drinking style of performing "music".

she really thought it was funny that a person would do that and others would pay to see it. then she asked why i own/have watched him ....
smart ass kid..........i told her it was like when you pass an auto accident ...and you really want to see what happened although you know it isn't going to be pretty and chances are someone got hurt.

i wonder if maybe she was too young to hear about GG??????...... i don't think so as she has already asked sex questions but it got me thinking....

when is a good time to tell your kids about GG?

Depends on the kid. I'd say older, from my experience, but You know Your own kids the best. I don't even let my kids see clips of my own shows from internet - not that'd they would bar with GG in anyway - and still get some answering to do.

That kind of stuff shocking stuff that the offended adults can't get their eyes off can be to just boring after getting answers to the first few questions. You know, if You can't spell significant sub-culture figure and exemplifying radical transgression of social norms that kind of things remain playing with willy and poo-poo.

I dunno, I was just recently introduced to GG Allin, actually. I know, it's weird, but it just never happened. But, you don't want them upping the punx too early, elwd. My first concert was The Ramones when I was three, and look how I turned out! A fate I'd wish on no child.

But, if you compare GG to what happens these days, it's startlingly tame compared to a lot of television.

I guess as long as she doesn't start thinking that GG's stage manor is normal social behaviour then your golden. Don't let her near youtube for the next ten years or something.

wow .... i didn't expect responses to this.

my girl was mos def ready.....her sister would not be at that age....i can already tell.

and btw...i don't have satellite or cable or even pick up a single tele channel.....everything they have ever watched is from the library. television is the downfall of the usa, imo. but whatever.......moderation is king.

ramones at 3? .... nice. you turned out just fine. ..... so far anyway.....or seem to be. if you were SR i'd be worried....or if he jumped in here and said his popi hipped him to GG at 6...i'd be very very worried and re-examine everything i do as a parent.

in all actuality, it wasn't a big deal at all. she just thinks it's "yukky"..... it came up after she saw a dog eat shite at the park........while trying to explain why a dog would do such a thing.....i referred to the dog as GG......blah blah blah.....all very natural.

Hahah, see, the thing is, I don't think parents are ever the one to introduce folks to GG. So, by doing this, you've made him seem lame and unappealing by making it "something dad likes". Plus, really, if you actually listen to the music, it's pretty juvenile punk music. I mean, I dig it, but really, it's not too out there.

Meh? I also listen to a lot of grindcore though, so my opinion is flawed.

Also, every GG Allin song has the same chorus delivery.

I WANNA PISS ON YOU
I, I WANNA PISS ON YOU

etc.

What a great chorus though, I love blasting it at partys and making everyone thoroughly uncomfortable.

haha...yep..that's right...if pop is watchin it it must be unkool.
i agree....the music isn't that out there, just basic trashy garage punk with shitty lyrics.
besides, i don't remember ever putting on a GG show to enjoy the good punk rock that comes blaring from the speaks. i put it on the laff at the fukking idiot.
