So I need a clean boost...

I need a clean boost for my new band and I have about $50 to spend. What can you dudes recommend?
I've had a Devi 05 and 25 and they were both too bright. The Dark Boost was too dark. The MXR Micro Amp is perfect for my purposes in my other band, but I can only spend $50.
Looking at the EHX LPB-1 in particular. Anyone use one of these? Any better options for the money?

I find the LPB-1 to be pretty bright too. I really love the boost mode of McSpunkle's And Aardvarks. But it's a bit out of your price range. Maybe he would do a scaled down boost for cheaper? Wouldn't hurt to ask him

The footprint on the Boosta Grande is slightly too large for what I'm rolling with in the new band. I have heard good things, though.
McSpunckle rules hard. Danny knows what's up and I love his shit. But I definitely need something with one knob. Like BAM.

You should be able to get a used Micro Amp for $50. It seems to be the going rate for them. There's one on the Nashville Craigslist for that price.

One of my A-OK Boosts might fit the bill.

The clean boosts I know tend to be a little bright, since

I guess they're often designed to clip just a bit that high end of the amp

not as much as a treble booster but still. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Something derived form the And Aardvarks should work wonderful, like bigchief here said. Or perhaps, if Tom could do a some equally downscaled thing from the Groundswell, it had awesome warm, low end boosting tone to it

Yah, I have one, it adds a bit of bass which is nice, I use mine as a mute so for the ends of songs. I actually use a DOD equalizer as a boost, since it has an overall level control, and then I can boost teh frequencies I really want when I solo. It cost 19.99 at a Pawn Shop, the dude even gave me a penny back.

You use your boost for a mute? MINDFREAK!
The A-OK boost looks real cool. All the Noisemaker shit does. I need to try some stuff out eventually.
I might add that I have a Mellowtone CC/DC that just stopped working on me. Maybe I should just get someone to look at it? It was PERFECT for what I want. Might be cheaper than $50 bucks to just get it fixed...

T1M makes a bunch of clean boosts, even a SHO clone for less than $50 I think.
