what are some of your faves?

I like:

(slow quiet)
(slow quiet)
(loud fast)
+/- slow quiet section
-----------------------------------
(loud chorus *no vocals*)
(verse)
(chorus stripped down to 1 or 2 instruments *no vocals*)
(verse)
(repeat verse -> stripped down chorus as desired)
(loud chorus *no vocals*) w/ opt. repeat
----------------------------------
(instrumental intro)
(chorus a)
(chorus b)
(chorus c)
*instrumentation dosen't change or only builds slightly between choruses*
--------------------------------
(loud chorus *no vocals*)
(verse)
(loud chorus *no vocals*)
(verse)
(break)
(solo or loud section *different from chorus*)
(loud chorus *no vocals*)
(short outro *usually modification of the break*)
----------------------------
(slow build)
(ocean of noise punctuated with highly effected vocals or keyboar/guitar swells)
(abrupt fall to one element of the noise ocean *usually light feedback into your favourite modulation*)
----------------------------
I use the term "chorus" extremely lightly (we all know choruses suck).

Usually it's:
Intro
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Solo or Breakdown
Verse
Chorus
Outro

But one song my band plays goes:
Intro
A section
B section
C section
D section

And yes I know I wrote c section.

haha, I'm chopping drums, pretty sure the first 3x 'song' set is:

sludge beat x6
roll-
into-
roll
blast A x4
roll
blast B x4
roll
-into-
blast 1 x4
sludgebeat2 x6
blast 2 x8
roll x2

2nd 'set is:
metal percussion
samples
metal percussion

3rd set will complete my side of the tape and will be closer to set 1... Kinda influenced by the old peel sessions for Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror the way the songs are grouped-run together.

i tend to have a case of the old traditionalists:

intro
verse
chorus
verse
chorus
bridge
solo
bridge
verse
chorus
chorus repeats
ending or outro

naturally, i end up with songs that are six or seven minutes long. i'm trying to get into the Kevin Shields thing of

intro
4-line verse
intro repeats
verse
intro repeats
verse
ending or outro
