All of them in front. Nothing in the loop. Ever.

My amps don't have a loop. Even when I had an amp that did, I never used it.

Same here. I'm not against effects loops, I've just never had an amp that had one that worked.

:joy: I have two amps with loops and I just ignore it. I haven't even tried my bass amp fx loop at all, it might be totally faulty and some dude owes me money for selling me a not-fully-working amp!

'in theory' what you're supposed to do is run dirt in front of the amp and delay and modulation in the loop. But that method only works if you're boring enough to only run your modulation and delays after your dirt all the time.

I like everything in front of the amp sows my repeats and modulation increase my amp is increasingly pushed towards breaking up.

ok, i nerver used the loop but then again im new to modulation stuff. I got a delay and run it before the amp and i works just fin as long as i have the amp clean and the dirt in the boxes.

effects loops are really made for rackmount effects units. Most pedals are expecting an instrument level signal (-20dB or thereabouts), whereas your amp's effects loop puts out a line-level signal (~0dB). So if you put pedals in your effects loop, it might sound OK, or it might sound like poop, depending on how that individual pedal can handle really hot signals.

No loop on my current amp but every loop I've had is described above, line level only=shitty results. There have been times where I'd love to throw a delay in the loop for my dirt channel but 90% of my dirt originates from pedals now days.

The only pedal I'd use in a loop would be a delay. Sometimes that can clean up the decay and make it sound a bit more rich. Otherwise the entire board stays after the guitar signal and before the main input.

None of my current amps even have effects loops.

If you are using your amp for high gain stuff it's pretty useful...most pedal guys are running into clean amps so it really isn't an issue.

Add me to the list of "never use it." Only one of my amps has an fxloop and I've never used it, haha. All my amps are fairly clean; as gunner said, they are more useful in high gain amps.
