DIY Restringing Stand: Easy and Free!

Have you ever wanted to make something that's easy, even easier?

This didn't cost anything and was simple to make. I used it for the first time today and it really did make changing strings a lot easier. :joy:
Just cut the box with one side higher than the other to get the angle you want and cut the top to the width of the neck.
You can see in the last picture that I put another box inside (one on each side) to give more support where you'll rest your arm.
You could also fill the box with bubble wrap or foam if you really want to baby your guitar.

Yeah, that box is the perfect size and USPS gives them away! The medium or large flat rate boxes would work as well.
Also, I'm sure it could be used to make other repairs easier too.

Hey cool! You can do this directly in your guitar case as well, depending on the shape.

any suggestions for something similar for fender style guitars? I think I would still have to remove the guitar and route the strings through the bridge and then put back in place. Maybe a sideways version?

You could just stick all the strings through the bridge, then use the stand. :idk:
