Around here, that's like asking "If I asked you to murder all of your family members but one, who would you spare?"

Of what I own, my big-box Vintage Rat Reissue (92-ish). Can get near fuzz, and good ranges of distortion and overdrive sounds.

Haha, I know. Obviously there isn't one pedal that does everything you need. But you know, undead Hitler and Satan are eating your fuzz and you can only carry one due to the weight limitation on your emergency jet pack type situation.

I guess the question could also have been "what's the closest to an 'all my bases covered' pedal for you and your style of playing/your music?"

I think I would say a Rat too. Perhaps a D+. I like a nice vintagey od that get sneak into fuzzy territory.

Am I missing something with the Rat? Is it a style thing? I just don't get it.

Feel free to pile on.

I don't get it either. I just traded my 89-90 Rat cuz I've never used it beyond 'let's try this amp/guitar with the Rat!'.

Probably my meathead dark clone. Awesome FUZZ, roll back the pickup volume and you have great OD-fuzz. I've heard it in practice + live/ concert settings and five different amps, so even with one knob, I think it would work for 'my one fuzz'.

Le sigh.

If it had to JUST be one, I'm gonna say my Gnomeratron VTF. Both for the sentimental reasons and the fact that it can cop so many different toanz so well.

But those zombies had better be pretty damn well prepared if they expect to pry the five other fuzzes off my board!

dirt trasmitter. It seams to nail most of the sounds I like in a fuzz pedal.

Not going to happen.

But I would keep the most versatile unit I own - Fairfield 4Eyes Fuzz. That guy goes almost anywhere and beyond.

This question reminds me of when people would ask what my favorite band was.
