I'm voting for the Lunar Echo.
Mostly because I'm hoping you accidentally buy two, and flip the extra one on B/S/T for cheap so I can buy it from you.

I guess it depends on whether you are looking for a multi-function delay, or something that is very specialized. For the former, I'd go with the Flashback. For the latter, the El Cap.

for me, i need something that does more than just emulate tape echo--especially at that price point--so the El Cap would be out. i'd never heard of the Lunar Echo until this; it appears to do interesting variations on one of those love-it-or-don't basic sounds, and i guess i'm not loving it. but then, i've never been mad about analog chip delay. i like the sound of the Ghost Disaster more than i remember liking it on demos in the past and would probably pick it based on pure liking-the-sound as i look at stuff tonight, but 625ms of maximum delay time isn't very fucking much. seriously, i get 2 seconds on a RV-3, and that's hardly any time at ALL. the Flashback does everything i want from a small delay--you can even fake it into a multi-head thing with a sneaky setting i saw on a PGS demo--but for some reason it just doesn't make my heart sing when i hear it on demos. don't mistake me, i like it, i'm just not all OMG THE BURNING BUSH about it. i'm thinking about the Muza 900, but i'm nervous about all those concentric knobs and how they'll stand up to constant tweaking.

I say El Cap, although I really want a Ghost Disaster myself.
I've gotten way more use out of my delay sounds since I got the El Cap.

This is the truth. Thinking of getting a flashback again and I have a el cap, echoloution and sunny day delay.

There are three things about my ghost disaster I don't like:
No tap tempo. It's not too important, sometimes it would come in handy though.
No modulation on the repeats. I used to have a 616 and I used the modulation on that thing to it's full extent, I kinda miss it occasionally.
The delay time is a little short if you're looking for ambient stuff, but it does have a lot of atmospheric goodness in it.
The capistan would be my second choice, it isn't incredibly appealing to me, but you can get the three things the ghost disaster lacks. Between the tone knob and that attack function there's a lot of fun stuff in the ghost disaster, it's colder in some ways but I'm kinda lovin it for eerie tones and the feedback on the delay is great in combination with the reverb, I'm using it as a kind of percussive swell sound for a movie I'm scoring.

I was gonna say, the Muza 900 demo is grabbing me.

Even though the el cap only does tape delay, it does a lot. You can clean it up to not sound very tape-y too.
I'm really just saying el cap because I have one and love it though.

Yeah, this is definitely true. You can set to be super clean with high headroom and virtually zero modulation. Especially on the shorter delay times.

The El Cap tops out at 1.5 seconds in fixed-head mode, so that might be an issue for you as well.
I find myself using delay, generally, from between 300ms to about 750ms. What kind of stuff are you doing that 2 seconds is barely covering the bases? I'm genuinely curious, as obviously you are using some technique or playing style that is not something I'm familiar with. This might be one of those "teachable moments".
