I did an interesting study on this in my last anthropology class. Even America's homeless are often fat. Our research found that lower income food staples were often high in fat and exercise wasn't an accepted or permit able facet of lower income daily routines. Weird and unfortunate in our country.

98% of the foods in our everyday grocery stores are garbage chemicals. Don't even get me started on the FDA/pharmaceutical relationship! Ever wonder why pharmaceutical companies have such fancy banquet parties all the time, hmmm... just keep pumping Americans with fake, chemically derived foods and they'll have to start pumping themselves full of pills to "fix" their problems which only creates more health problems which lead to more pills!

Don't you have nice grocery stores in America?
I would think getting vegetables wouldn't be that hard. In my experience, muslim or arabic parts of town usually have fruit vendors, but white people steer away because the veggies aren't as "shiiiiny" as the ones in other places. Screw that, I like my germs, I don't care if someone touched my potatoes! I'm gonna cook them anyway! Lousy non-germ eating.. *mutters and kicks chair a little*

You should start a vegetable fund where you collect vegetables for poor people!

Damn... I figured you all thought I was CRAYZAY when I said the same thing... whether you believe (will accept) this is all connected to a "NEW WORLD ORDER" or not, it's ALL fucking true! (not the NWO, necessarily, but the fact that this is happening) You can't buy anything on the shelf, even what's labeled "organic", that isn't potentially treated with radiation or full of growth hormones and pesticides, and the poor folk can't exactly afford all these fancy vegetable platters and overpriced organic shit, they have to eat McDonald's and rubberized peanut butter and processed meats, etc. etc. (so I can't in good conscious "hate on" the "stupid, fat redneck"-types as much as I tend to...) And if people are willing to let big pharmacy and big agriculture keep doing what they do, then it's going to effect *everyone*... when you can't even freely grow your own vegetables that aren't produced by MONSANTO-BRAND SEEDS, or some other huge agriculture business brands, you're going to be pissed, haha.

Go look into "Codex Alimentarius" AW'REDY!!!

Commercially available produce is irradiated to the point that it's essentially like eating paper, btw... so eating vegetables (especially when most people cook them into mush) don't do shiiiittt... unless maybe you're willing to commit to a vegetarian lifestyle and actually go for a walk or something sometimes... But I mean... you can't even get clean water.. it's all FLUORIDATED.

It's a strange thing. I live in Portland oregon and am really really health conscious. A place like here we have a farmer's market like every day of the week with many local organic options. But in smaller towns the farmer's markets are more sparse. The walmarts like to take over small towns, that and whatever big grocery chain is popular for the area of the country. And these big chains have vegetables. Most of them are not organic and many are imported, which yield lower nutritional value and obvious problems from the chemicals. Some even have an organic section, but it is sooo overpriced that even middle-class people who are not so health conscious think it's rediculous.

Alot of people here are in debt, not just the poor. So I think that there is this mentality of why buy expensive healthy food when there's this other food I can get that is cheaper. And most people don't do a lot of research on what is healthy. Most people here just watch tv, and listen to their shitty doctors. For example my sister was really shocked that I don't drink milk, she swears that I'm going to have osteoperosis someday. Which is rediculous if you know anything about milk. But she's heard it on tv so long, that she believe's it.

As far as the really poor in this country. I really think it is about commercials. I think people are really gullible. People think that fast food is supposed to be a cheap meal. And that's because all of the commercials tell you that. But if you really do the math it is cheaper to cook for your self. Which leads to another thing. Poor people usually work alot, two or three jobs sometimes, and don't have the energy to cook.

I blame the commercial food industry. They are bastards, they murder people.

Wow, back home (norway it's called) we have doctors trying every two-three years to tell people not to drink so much milk! Apparently too much of it (the amount the milk companies, capitalist norwegians playing the patriot card, wants us to drink) makes your bones brittle in old age.
All my allergies and asthma I had as a child was cured by growing up with no milk, no meat and little sugar. And we were pretty poor, but again in another country. Come to think of it, I don't know if we were vegetarians because of budget or health, haha.

Your country seems pretty scary to me now that I am older and know what a little responsibility means. I have been in california and also been in the worst slum in the world, mathare in Kenya, where all those people was killed in the election if you follow the international news. I got that same creepy feeling that something was not right in both places, health politics speaking. More so in mathare of course, I saw a man passed out from something I was told was made from alcohol, formaldehyde, washing detergents and airplane fuel. in cali there was just crackheads *makes weighing motion with hands*. Or maybe he was dead, I try not to think of that place anymore. And how did we survive in there for a whole day? *shiver*

It's true milk does make your bones brittle. It has to do with the protein. It is very acidic and your body leeches calcium from your bones to correct the ph in your body. At least that's what I've heard I'm not a doctor or anything. Also if you care about animal rights, milking cows in the big industrial farming system have it worse than any other animal IMO. They usually die at age 4 (cow's naturally live to be about 10) because their immune system just quits on them.

Mathare sounds scary. California can be a scary place too, I grew up there. The northern parts are way nicer.

seriously, and even if you don't give a shit about anything but yourself, you should know, they ("big industrial farm system" folks) pump those cows full of hormones so they produce more (which most likely contributes to the early death when combined with the exhaustive conditions.) and you are taking in all those added hormones, along with all the natural chemicals in milk that aid in an infant's (er.. calve's) development, which is not needed in adults, human or otherwise.

Uh so wait.....poor people cant run? How about situps, they charge for that now? I dont buy that poor people cant exercise for a fucking second. I was poor...shit i could barely afford rent and i stayed skinny as fuck eating shit from the dollar menu. Three wendys double cheese could feed me for a day. Never ate a bite of kashi or any health food shit. I also didnt have a car and had to walk to work/meals/hangout with friends. Its only since ive been forced to move back in with my family that ive gained weight.

This type of shit reaks of the lack of personal accountability in this country.

Fuck cartoon food. We HATES it.

Seriously, it is incredibly easy to eat good, real food in the US. Fresh produce is plentiful, and most "ethnic" markets (for lack of a better term) are ridiculously cheap. No doubt there is a giant propaganda machine to keep you full of McDouchle's high fucktose corn shite, but it's pretty easy to get off that grid.

EDIT: WTF ZOMBIE THREAD
