so, I'm just kinda thinking about things I can do to not only pump out a little more volume, but make my rig more versatile when I remembered that my Ibanez DE7 has a wet and dry output that I never really considered taking advantage of before. My understanding is that if I run the two outputs through two separate amps, one will play the dry signal alone(Amp A) and the other will play just the wet signal(Amp B), but what I'm confused about is, when the pedal isn't activated, will I get a dry signal out of both amps, or will Amp B stop playing completely?

Basically, I'm considering buying a cheap bass amp(looking at a Peavey Mark III on craigslist now), and running it through that wet output with a really washed out reverb-ey sound so that my tight slapback echo becomes kind of a deeper rumble, but I would like to also have it playing when in tandem to my Vox normally(might drown my 15 watt out though). Oh, I'd be playing the bass amp through a 1x15 and the Vox through a 1x12 and 2x12 extension.

Maybe I should just get a Y splitter and run Amp B on a slapback echo on it's own. I guess my question is in that first paragraph. The rest of this is just rambling...

You'll probably learn more by trying it than me guessing. Plug the delay out into the amp, and for good measure have the normal output go into another pedal that's on. (Likely just having that output connected will be more than sufficient.)

Parallel streaming ends up kind of justifying all of those cool cheap amp purchases along the way, so I recommend it. I'm about to try doing something with a parallel shimmer path. Good stuff.

lol, I just realized I could do this a couple minutes ago. It was a bit of a "duh" moment.

I was thinking about the same thing. Having a dirty loop playing and clean tone up on top. You can accomplish that with just an LS2 correct?

Yep, cause I just did it! Twas bad ass. Delayed 'n modulated dirt over gnometron fuzz.
Any loop with a mix control could do it.

I believe the "amp B" turned off when I turned off the delay. It's pretty cool being able to mix like that. Imagine if you had a splitter pedal...2 wet/dry signals, 3 amps...

So after inadvertently discovering that my Fender pedal tuner also acts as a splitter, I decided to abandon the whole wet/dry options and just go for running two amps at once. So I present to you...bup-buh-da-da!... FRANKENRIG(named after US Senator Al Franken of course)!

I'm running my guitar through my pedalboard as usual, into the pedal tuner then splitting the first signal though an ISP Decimator into a Vox AC15 which is also driving a 2x12 Tube Works extension. The second signal runs through my Fish 'n Chips EQ into the Yamaha G100II head(with spring 'verb cranked) into a Crate 15" speaker. In the picture, the signals actually go diagonally to the speakers. I've still got plenty of stuff to mess around with including moving pedals before/after the splitter and messing with the EQ on the Yamaha. That head actually has a lot of tone shaping options and I think I'll either move the Fish 'n Chips to the Vox side or before the split after I putz around with it cause it's making a weird screech(dead battery I'm guessing).

Basically, I'm using the head/bass cab to add a shitton of presence too my sound by cranking the bass on the EQ and washing the sound out with plenty of reverb. It sounds awesome especially since the Yamaha runs so clean and the Vox gets that classic chimey overdrive when I have the volume pot on the guitar cranked. It's a really cool mixture since the two sounds are so different, but they meld really well. Having the Vox vibrato on a high depth, medium speed setting with fuzz over the washed out Yamaha is super cool.

I'm sooooo excited about this, but I'm also horrendously sleep deprived, so I'm horribly torn between rocking out more and getting some much needed sleep. Wahhhhhhh! So happy!!!

That looks cool. Yeah, the whole split delay was kind of a whim and didn't work out how I wanted. Now I'm just going nuts with this two amp setup. Running the second amp with the reverb on 8/9 is basically achieving exactly what I wanted to begin with and opens up a lot of room for experiementing

Anybody else use a stero rig/split chains that they want to show off to provide me with some inspiration?

I mess around with it when I get the chance, I like having a clean sub octave going to a bass amp along with fuzz in my guitar amp, or two different fuzzes in parallel, one with massive sub octave . Clean+dirty sounds in parallel are awesome, especially if you throw heavy modulation on the clean side, so you get all the swooshy sounds but keep the dirty side nice and heavy without those annoying high frequency spikes you get running phase and stuff after fuzz pedals normally. I haven't had a chance to test out the parallel delay lines on my SMMH yet, but I'm bloody well looking forward to it. If I could be bothered with the hassle I'd definitely run a stereo rig all the time.

Sounds like you're already doing some cool stuff, just experiment, throwing pedals around in different chains to see what works!
