The 5AR4 went out on my ac30 so I got a new one but I don't know how to put it in. I know not to touch the glass with my bare fingers and all that stuff.
I just can't figure out how to get to the tubes on my amp. They're like... enclosed in some thing and I can't figure out to get to them.
Can anyone tell me how to get to the tubes? It's an ac30cc1. The older 1x12 Korg model.
Thanks

Does it have those screws in the sides of the amp holding the "shelf" in there?

No worries. I don't have one but I can suggest that you locate the screws that hold the head unit in the cabinet housing. Take them out one by one while holding the head unit so that you don't allow it to fall or damage the threads of the screws.
You'll find the tubes in there. How did you know the 5AR4 rectifier tube went out if you don't even know where it is? Is there even a 5AR4 tube in the ac30cc1?

StopReferencing- no there aren't any screws on the side unless you mean on the inside side.
The back looks like this

I've started unscrewing that top panel on the back
Baxandall - I knew it was the 5AR4 because I popped the vent off the top and noticed it wasn't glowing. I looked at it with a flashlight through the vent and read 5AR4 on the tube. Yeah it's the rectifier.

There you have it. Undo those 8 screws on that back cover plate. That should open it up enough to see and probably get to the tubes.

You'll be fine bro. No worries. It's just an amp friend. Don't be afraid to open it up.

You'll be fine. Keep de sembling. hahaha. Just remember how you did it so you can reverse it. SLOWLY. Those top screws look like the next step. Once you get them out I bet the unit will slide out from the back. The tubes are obviously horizontal.

Dang I just unscrewed everything that I can see holding the chassis in there but it won't move.
The 5AR4 isn't horizontal it's up in the front
I have to go to my screenprinting class right now shit.
Dude they couldn't possibly make it harder to change a tube.

Apparently VOX doesn't want you to get into it without a fight. Just take your time and don't rush it. You'll get it. Hopefully some VOX guys will chime in soon.
Did you remove those screws with the grommets in the cab that go UP into the head unit? Look for anything that goes into the direction of the head unit.
