King of Tone

So I just received an email that I'm on the top of the waiting list. My decision now is about options. Does anyone have one of these with any of the options:

1) 4 jacks
2) external toggle on one side
3) high gain

I'm especially interested in hearing any opinions on the high gain option.

Thanks.

My name came up over a year ago and I never bought it...I wonder if I still can.

High gain on the red seems like a good option, 4 jacks doesn't seem terribly useful to me.
The toggle COULD be useful depending if you like switching modes a lot, I guess if you've got the $50 you may as well get it.

I think you're free to order whenever you top the list, doesn't matter how long you take to actually do so. I've seen a guy order a BiComp over a year after his name came up, Mike just refers to original emails and bumps you into production.

Good to hear.
Need to stop buying fuzz for 5 minutes so I can get one.

I'll probably go high gain red, everything else stock when I order (toggle looks useful but that's $50 that could be used for more fuzzzzzzzz).

Thanks--this is what I was thinking. May get the toggle so I have flexibility.

I think you're right--the email made reference to there not being any hurry.

I got on the list at the end of March '10, so my name should be coming up sometime this year... maybe end of summer/early fall. I should start setting money aside for it and begin thinking what I want. Definitely think the high gain option is worth getting. If I remember correctly the high gain options just make the distortion mode more usable. Right?

The high gain mod shifts the gain range of whatever side you choose (or you can get both). You can get some higher gain stuff but you lose the lowest gain settings.
If the standard KOT went from 1-10 the high gain would go from 3-12 or something like that.

I hear ya! Thought I was done but ordered a Hoof Reaper, Second Voice, TAFM, and Fuck (not fuzz, close enough) all in the last couple weeks. I'm gonna have to get a second board strictly for the fuzz, I thinks I got the sickness!
