Looking for a new amp.

Alright, so I absolutely HATE my current amp. I have a Jet City 20 watt combo. I can't get a good sound out of it and what I hate the most is that you can only get louder by turning up the gain. It lacks major clean headroom, so, I am looking for a new amp. I'm looking for,
Preferably a combo
Clean channel
Reverb is preferred
no built in effects
loud enough to gig with
good with pedals
least knobs the better
and somewhere under 600.
I lightweight amo would be pretty cool too.
EDIT: I also don't care if theres anthing tube related in it. I also have 666 posts.

Try and find a used JC 50 it's a 1x12 combo, 50 watts, it's loud enough for a band setting with the volume knob at nine 'o'clock, it has a spring reverb tank. And it does have a really bad distortion that can be turned of and a vibrato/chorus that can also be turned off. Used they are around $350 or so. That or a JC-120, but that's alot heavier, even though it is on wheels.

Hi five!
Yeah, JC60 or 90 would get my vote...
I got my Laney VC30 for super cheap and it's also super nice.

The JCA 20 watters are like little JCM-800's -- good for that sort of thing, but not for cleans with headroom, and I wouldn't be able to have that be my only or main amp, either. (Still want one for what it's good at -- fun little amp.)
Your parmeters and lightweight, I'd luck at the ZT Lunchbox and club. Lightweight is not the new AC-30c2 (or AC-15c1) -- those weigh a ton. Not a lot tube with headroom is lightweight.

You can buy my Crate V50 combo and put a good 8 ohm speaker in it for
way less than $600!

worked with my old kramer.

So many amps to choose from if you include both ss and tube... I'd go for an old Sunn Beta Lead.

Isn't the Lunchbox like a practice portable amp?

Not from what I've read about it. The zt lunchbox has 200w @ 8ohms so in theory it should be able to get loud enough to gig with. It only weighs 10 lbs too. For portability this is the one, and it supposedly has pretty good clean headroom, though I haven't tried it myself. It's the next amp on my list.

The Lunchbox is probably more like 130 rms watts, plenty gigable, though it may be a bit light on bass for some. I've also got an EV-loaded TL-806 thiele cab, so I'm covered for low end when I need it. But if you want extra low end, portability, and a couple more features, the Club model with the 12" speaker might be a better fit. The Lunchbox does plenty of clean headroom, and not bad lower gain overdrive/crunch when turned up. And it's a fantastic pedal amp.

had it, it's loud, great with pedals, the reverb is actually quite decent

the amount of knobs is reasonable and you can get them for good prices
so yeah, VC30

Yeah another thumbs up for the VC30, sounds right up your alley... you can also get re-issue deluxe reverbs for like, $650ish? Maybe check that out
