I like the two-trannie Vox Tone Bender with the AC30 -- it's a pretty dark sounding amp so the top end fizz of that fuzz sounds great. I have a DAM 1966 and an original 67 Vox TB, both sound great in there while they're a bit too toppy for my Fender-ish Traynors.
MkI Tone Bender is another good one.
MkII can get a bit lost.
Ge Fuzzrite or Maestro FZ-1 both sound great into it too -- vintage gnarliness.

Although a nice rangemaster is awesome into a Vox -- try a CF Sugar Boost.

Russian muff sounds all around bad ass.

Fuzz Face is a bit more gnarly and "out-there"

I nearly fainted when i (finally) heard my musket fuzz with either a rangemaster clone or a KLON clone.... with the mids cranked it does that sound you are always looking for.....

Listen to Devnulljp, he is the answer to this question..my AC15HW1 gets along with all my MKI Tone Benders very well, and the two transistor 1.5 Tone Bender is simply magic. I happen to have a MKII that does work very well due to a more pronounced midrange (Pigdog), but that is the exception and not the norm.

..was just pondering this question tonight actually...
