Cheaper noise gate?

Post by snipelfritz »

Does anybody have experience with or recommendations for any noise gates for under $100? I'm looking at either a Rocktron Hush or something similar. I'm just looking for something to cover up a little feedback and pedal noise.

Discuss.

Torn's Peaker?
    :thumb:

(NF-1 is cheap and fine for this purpose though ... and if you hate it you can turn it into an SG-1)

lol, partly the Torn's Peaker(I bought one from nieh a few weeks back). As I'm adding things to my pedal board, I'm getting a buzzing noise. I don't think it's a grounding issue. I think one or two of them aren't true-bypass. Ionno.

I have an ISP Decimator that I might be willing to part with. The Decimator is incredible at what it does, but my new amp seems to like noisy pedals more than my old one.

I had a Hush for many years and it was great. At that time I was gigging with a 120W 5150 head and a Boss DD5 delay was the only pedal I used. My band at that time was very Helmet-y and it killed the amp noise when I held the strings, but didn't kill my sustain or the delay repeats. It's the ony noise gate I ever used but it did the trick very well.
