I enjoy mine. I haven't had much time to tinker with it, but from first impression it's like a more versatile Karaoke Party.

And it's fucking adorable.

Honestly, the cuteness is really the mail selling point.

I'm totally biased when it comes to all things McSpunckle (ALL THINGS, O.K.?!), but I really love my AA! For my last few recordings, it's been one of my "always on" pedals, either as a boost (really wonderfully transparent) or as an OD. I've been using the "clean bass" OD setting the most, but I love the all-OD-d OD setting as well. I think I've posted clips somewhere... but here's one that covered both the AA & my mini-gnome. The first 1:48 is AA only:

Track info: Fender Jazz (passive) into McSpunckle And Aardvarks! into MiniGnome into M Audio Fast Track Pro into Garageband

0:00 - clean tone
0:09 - AA! Cleanish boost, tone & gain max
0:20 - AA! Cleanish boost, tone noon, gain max
0:30 - AA! Cleanish boost, tone & gain noon
0:41 - AA! Trebly OD, tone & gain max
0:55 - AA! Trebly OD, tone noon, gain max
1:09 - AA! Trebly OD, tone & gain noon
1:19 - AA! Full OD, tone & gain max (mah fave of the ODs)
1:34 - AA! Full OD, tone noon, gain max
1:48 - AA! Full OD, tone & gain noon
2:00 - MiniGnome Muffy Fuzz
2:18 - MiniGnome Muffy Fuzz - less cleanish, more gain
2:31 - MiniGnome Muffy Fuzz - more cleanish, lower fuzz
2:48 - MiniGnome Octave Fuzz
3:01 - MiniGnome Octave Fuzz - more cleanish
3:19 - MiniGnome Octave Fuzz - more cleanish, higher gain
3:37 - MiniGnome Octave + AA! Full OD
3:59 - MiniGnome Muffy Fuzz + AA! Full OD (might be my fave of the two stacked)
4:20 - MiniGnome Octave + AA! Full OD gate down... with a side of sloppy noodling.

I've got one on the way. I'll be sure to let you guys know what I think :thumb: but pretty sure I'll love it and let it kick the Sparkle Drive off my board (which has been on there for like, 3 or 4 years. crazy.)

Honestly, it is a sweetass little pedal. Awesome fundamental boost with some nice grit if you want it. Very easy to dial in the tonez you want. I don't see how you'd regret it!

Its a BOOST in the best sense. Mine is customized, it should have some more grit; I hear transistor break-up. YMMV, Spunk and I talked about it a ton and it seemed like he was going to take the feedback into account in the future, but I've been out of the loop, so assume he has. Also note that your equipment won't sound like mine, I have a hell of a time getting my amp to break up in a way I like (which necessitates replacing the amp, not boosting it more) so again, YMMV.

Buy this pedal and support McSpunkle because he's awesome and provided the best interaction I've had with any pedal builder. He put up with my crazy requests for customization, after all.

Keep in mind, too, that McSpunkle is about to really reshape how he does pedals - if you really want an ...And Aardvarks, I'd try talking to him now, because I'm not so sure it'll be easy to get one in the future.

FWIW, I had a Gnomeratron VTF for a hot minute and it was incredibly crazy versatile, well built and I can only imagine that the AA brings the same thunder to boost pedals.
