I had a workshop yesterday where we built a guitar.. A very awesome one It's called White Eagle Tailed Bridge Guitar.

And this is it:

It's the one with the guitarneck, the other wooden colored one is my 12 string electric overtone zither

It looks really punk right?

But what's most interesting is that it has 2 string fields, the first one is obviously a normal guitar, the second string field behind the bridge is 2 octaves higher!
Both string fields have a single coil pick-up which have an own output but can also be switched to both pick-ups via one output..

What is cool is that the second string field resonates when you play your normal guitar lines.. But you can also play on the second string field and let the normal guitar field resonate..

As you can see, lots of possibilities

Do you know if Yuri sometimes does workshops in Belgium? I'd love to do something like this!

EDIT: Just checked his webiste and he's actually coming to my shithole of a town in May for a workshop

Yeah! Still want to go to one of his workshops but I never have the time when he's doing one. I have a friend who has an homeswinger, which sounds really awesome. Like all of his instruments.

Yeah, the homeswinger is cool too, I have one too Very nice bell-like sounds and some sounds comparable to the white eagle.. The drumguitar is also very cool but might not be everybodies cup of tea, because it is way more experimental sounding..

I just mailed him, he put me on the list for the White Eagle workshop in belgium. Fuck yeah!

I had a nice chat with him on Facebook, and he said something about a possible Fall tour of the US this year. He said he'd look into a Providence stop, so I'm sure he'd consider DC - you should send him an e-mail. If you can give him suggestions about places to do these, he seems pretty willing to do the legwork.

Congratulations on that.. In a few weeks I think you will see a few others of these coming by on ILF, phantasmagorovich is also going to a workshop in a few weeks!

I met Phantasmagorovitch in Amsterdam and we built these too! So much fun! They sound amazing!!!!

Uni you've got to go to the workshop in Ghent in September! Workshop participants get to play their White Eagles with Rhys Chatham in a performance of Guitar Trio the 2nd night!!!! Plus - the White Eagle is awesome!
