...might be a nice addition to the synth/noise gear. I liked the Monotron sounds okay on themself, though, like so many other instruments, probably better followed by a Dwarfcraft TGD.

I'd already been thinking of getting a Monotron to play with on the train. This ups then ante a bit. I wish it wasn't so much more, but it might still be good enough a value for me.

lack of midi, 8 step sequencer?

for almost 3 bills, i think i'd rather just have an electribe.
also, korg ds10 is prob just as cool and more portable than this too but requires a nintendoDS

DS has no midi... Why does everyone have to have midi everything.?. It's got sync which works for me... This is REAL ANALOG as opposed to anything else Korg has been making... I thought the Monotron was a toy even though we used them at work to test speakers... I'm really interested in the Monotribe though looks real cool, built in beats, VCO VCF and VCA with input... Awesome...

We had a lot of fun at the experimental/noise jam with a Monotron and a delay.

everything doesn't have to have midi, but it would expand the capabilities of this guy (esp at the price tag...if it was like $100 instead of $275 i wouldnt say shit).....maybe use it w/ a full fledged sequencer? instead of being relegated to 8 steps, (which is more what i was

about. 8 steps is lame esp drums) midi sync to other gear? u would also be able to use it as a synth brain and plug it into a full midi keyboard when u wanted to and utilize the Korg REAL ANALOG to a much greater extent. from what i gather, sync only works to sync other monotribes together...korg ds has this capability...as well as midi over wifi/mods/hacks.
i'm not hating, and i'll admit my reaction was rather knee jerk. its def a cool lookin device, should probably hold off judgement until more info is available

This thing does look pretty cool. But I've been collecting quite a few synths with no midi, and using these synths together is awesome but without midi it's impossible to do live or with an impatient band.
It does sound really good though. I wonder if I could plug the sync trigger into the modulation in on my ring thing for sequenced pitch-shifting. If it would do that, I'd be all over it, because I've been looking for something that would do just that; and I'd have a super cool synth too.
