THE aluminum neck guitar is a kramer from the 80's. collectible now but you often see them with a crack in the neck in the same place. kramer was really investing money into the design but I guess it kinda failed.

I guess patents are only 25 years in the USA or fender would sue the crap out them. fender bought kramer thats why Gary Kramer uses his full name now. fender buys up everything. they might even buy electricalguitarcompany.com if they knew it existed.

I'm 95% sure Gibson owns Kramer.

I think I would buy a Kramer if I saw one in a shop. It's as close to a Travis bean I could ever afford

I used to have a Travis Bean, and sold it in a moment of weakness. It was a killer guitar but the also heaviest one I've ever picked up. I tried a couple Kramers, but none of them really blew my skirt up. I have a Bastin (
www.bastinguitarcompany.com) now and I couldn't be happier.

My buddy has an Electrical with p90s and a phase switch. Sounded awesome. I'd play it all the time. Wish he'd let me borrow it since he's a drummer and goes to school for drums and has better guitar equipment than myself.

a while ago i played one, no crack
the main thing i remember is HEAVINESS, it's seriously the most heavy guitar i've played. The sound... it had an unusual timber to it, wasn't bad!

but it was a bit "flat"
(btw tons of mids in this guitar)

I have been GASing for an ECG for quite a few months now. (been sending email and may get a custom 9 strings)
plus, spotting a Kramer at a recent Godpseed gig... so i guess aluminum neck guitar is the way to go for me.
just wonder how different Bastin is comparing to the ECG... ?
if anyone is interested in an aluminum body guitar
this is somewhat different
