Mascis gives the Dr. some love in Premier Guitar

The new issue of Premier Guitar has a feature on J. Mascis. Within, there are a couple mentions of his custom Dr. Scientist Woofer Wailer + Frazz, once during the interview and again in "Gearbox" section. Nothing like some free advertising! Here's the article:

Well, Mr. Mascis knows how to be awesome. So, obviously he and Doc Sci are in cahoots.
They are cahoot buddies. No doubt.

Pretty cool!
I wish J and I got to be better/closer buddies... he's a man of few words and didn't really respond to any of my queries about hanging out, jamming, me staying at his house for a month, recording together, playing video games together, him helping me to get my hair as cool looking as his, me borrowing 8 full stacks from him, me borrowing some sparkly guitars from him, changing his band name to Dinosaur Sr. now that we're all a little older ... nothin'! *looks down and kicks a rock*

I don't mean to be flippant about working with J and I'm just having some fun.. it was really cool and exciting and an honour and I hope he emails again one day.

I heard he keeps so many big amps around as a theft deterrent.. if you steal a pedal he'll pull those full stacks down on top of you.. it ain't worth it buddy!

That's still cool that you even got to talk to him in the first place though! I can't seem to remember where the pic of his custom dual is, but you should post it again! I always love looking at that thing. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he have a RRR also? I could've sworn I remembered he had one, so it seemed weird when he said he uses an RV-5.

Yessir he got a Frazz, a RRR, and the dual. I think he uses reverb in a custom Bradshaw looper and there was a time he had the RRR on a board but I think he prefers the RV-5.. does it shimmer or modulate or something cool like that? I'm just spit-balling, he doesn't tell me much. *smile*

I don't really know much about the R-5, but I can't imagine it sounding better than the RRR!
That dual pedal still looks amazing though. Ever thought about offering some duals, Ryan?
