Ring mod on bass?

hi, guys... so it's been a mystery to me... but a ring modded bass? sounds... ridiculous in my head... but i know it has been done
can you provide reasons? clips? whole songs? ideas? rants? chocolate?

Logan 5 totally sonded good, too
does anyone remember any song with bass with ring mod (i expect some Mars Volta since Juan Alderete has two Moog Ring modulators on his pedalboard)?

Juan has the Fairfield, the Moog, and an M9. Here's two videos of his use of ring modulators. And they are all over Bedlam in Goliath. Don't mistake the low end swirls for guitars. That's a bass.

Yeah, the Ring Worm seems like a great ring mod for the price point. I really like the mode selecting for the step sequencer, a la synthesizer sequences. And I bet some weird tremolo sounds lurk beneath.
