Currently in market for a new amp - right now I have a practice Orange amp and looking to get a tube amp (comfortable for hobby-bedroom level) that plays nice with pedals...I have a rickenbacker 330 / Kingsley Jouster / soon to have a Dr. Scientist cosmicchourus and lunar module fuzz (skreddy).

played through a Vox Ac-15 and it was a perfect marriage for the Ric, but I heard they don't play nice with pedals.... :idk:

Whoever told you AC's dont play nice with pedals?! My AC30 takes pedals like a bent cop takes bribes (i.e. - well)

I'd take the guitar and the pedals along to try out some amps.

Definitely agree with both of the above posts. Trying amps out with your gear is much more useful than playing one with another guitar+no pedals. And AC15s take pedals really well, they're nice little amps.

AC15s run what, $600 new? I'd say go into a store with your guitar and compare it with a Fender Blues Junior, Egnater Tweaker combo, and the Peavey Delta Blues. Those are all going to get a little bit dirtier and probably won't have the chimey cleans of the AC15, though. :idk:

As for pedals, bring one. Like your favorite fuzz. How it responds to different pedals could be good or bad depending on the pedal, guitar, and amp. While the amp is set clean, test out your favorite fuzz to at least get an idea of how it responds to that. Some amps sound really muddy with any type of distortion, or they sound like a blanket was thrown over them.

Thx guys - I remember reading someone's post on another forum that said his AC-15 isn't a fan of dirt pedals but I think I'm going to take the OD and fuzz and see how they sound before I purchase...
