Ge PNP with a Si NPN?

I'm going to make a two transistor fuzz and I only have a Germanium PNP Transistor but my NPN is standard Silicone.

Should I go ahead and possibly waste a Ge Transistor or will just one Ge give me enough of that Ge sound that it would be used for?

Socket the transistors and don't worry about "wasting" it? Build a circuit that uses both an NPN and a PNP transistor (Fuzz Face requires both PNP or both NPN) not sure which to recommend though. I know the Harmonic Percolator circuit was an NPN and a PNP.

Wow! I'm quoted in your sig! xD yeah I'm going to socket them.

And mismatched Si NPN with Ge PNP would probably make a really gnarly Harmonic Percolator. Here's a simplified / easy-parts-to-get version: http://www.home-wrecker.com/harmonic.html

I've liked the sound of a low gain (approximately 100 hFE) metal can 2N2222 for the NPN, and have been using a low-leakage Germanium (120 hFE) from Small Bear Electronics for the PNP. I've really enjoyed the sound of this combination, and have found it perfect for trashy, garage-style sounds.
