So a little while ago I built a Feedback Looper for use with a mic (has XLR input). I put 2 switches on it. The first turns on the feedback loop. The second does nothing right now - I either forgot what I wanted to do with it or never figured it out in the first place. I don't know.

So what should I do with it? Anybody have any ideas? Some small circuit or component that would do something interesting?



The switch is wired like this currently:

you could add an LFO, an LDR, a boost circuit maybe?

diode clipping. it will make everything the same volume no matter what. also adds distortion.

on that switch you wired already, I kinda loled cause you only need to use half the switch but you used both. more work to do the same thing.

I kinda realized that after. It was like 3am... and I had to be up for work at 6am... Very tired.

So if I added diode clipping would it go something like this?

that is one way to do it, but different than what eatyourguitar was proposing, i think.

if the diodes are oriented so that the signal is passing straight through them in the diagram you posted, that will add crossover distortion.
if you send the diodes to ground, it will limit the signal and also add diode clipping.

not a formal write-up on crossover distortion, but you can see some different ideas, etc.

That switch is already used. You would wire the other switch between a tap on the signal and the diode pair. The other end of the diode pair gets tied to ground.
