Hai, gaiz
i'm not sure if i can make a thread about my music... but i'm going to try - i'd like to be able to discuss it with you
ok, a bit of history... Apis Ante Portas (AAP) started more than two years ago, because i didn't have a band, but i was creative... so i started to mess around with Cubase and different VSTis and shit... I won't post the oldest ones, but let me tell you there's been an immense developement in every aspect... for instance a while ago i stopped messing around with keyboards and began to record purely guitar tracks
HERE'S A BANDCAMP ACCOUNThttp://apisanteportas.bandcamp.com/i'll post a few tracks, if you guys like it, or have any questions - talk to me

i might add some tracks later if you'll like it (please do... for your own sake... i'll send the best tracks later

)

btw this artwork was made by my friend
i'll post them chronologically

this is honestly some of the best sounding use of virtual instrument / vst stuff i've heard

Thanks!

i know that for example the sax solo in Interstellar is really... not real, mainly because there's no space for breathing...
but i just wanted to get some points across and my resources were really rectricted to small midi controller (don't have it anymore), guitars and later a bass (again - don't have it anymore, financial crysis... whatever)
glad you like it

Thanks, bro!
i have to admit, i'm more influenced by more modern prog bands like Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Riverside etc. i've been exploring classic prog stuff, but it's not as inspiring for me as for example Porcupine tree... i guess i'm more modern-based guy

Old or new I just like the er... epic-ness and experimentation you find in a lot of prog. Both of which come through on your jams. For some classic inspiration check this out:

Consciousness, Bonnie, and Opus Dei are awesome awesome awesome. Definitely some really great songwriting you've got there.

i know what you mean... even though my songs usually have really simple structures, i'm always trying to experiment at least with "special effects" and so on... unfortunately i can't enjoy greatness of experimentation through jamming, because i'm recording it on my own

thanks!
newer ones!

)

ok so even if you don't care i don't want you to miss the best bits
2 years = 4 minutes
[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/capekjanek/2-years-4-minutes[/soundcloud]
the most intimate track of all... a reaction to a painful breakup a.k.a. a track to make my ex cry (SUCCESS)
Mainstream Regression
[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/capekjanek/mainstream-regression[/soundcloud]
i love the bass here

i got my hands on a fine rockbass by warwick 5-string, had to use it
and the whipped cream on my cake...
MEDEA - THE ILF inspired song[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/capekjanek/medea[/soundcloud]
heavy fuzzage... inspired by me exploring a ton of heavy bands because of ILF (Boris, Torche, Baroness...)
Medea was also my therapy, i wasn't feeling very well...
and that's it, folks... thank you who acknowledged me and liked it

let's play a fun game of "describe the sound":
awesomesauce on the finest porkchop available.
BTW:
maybe you should add a little bit of color to your logo? It would probably help the text standing out from the bee, wasp (what it is!?)

It is supposed to be a killer bee - it coresponds with the band name, Apis is latin for bee. It's drawn by my friend, we agreed on making it in black and white, because i wanted it to be in good taste. I hate overdone logos/themes

but i admit it can all blend together
hehe when i need a song title, i usually ask my friends who hear it before uploading what it sounds like to them. If i were to name those songs with your help, it sure would be fun
