Hey, I tried this in b/s/t and got no love, so I wondered if any of the diy'ers could give me a hand...

I have a black russian muff that belongs to a friend of mine, it's the newer version with the true bypass. Anyway, it works in bypass mode but not when engaged. I tried messing around with it to see if the problem was anything simple enough for me to detect, but I neither have the time nor the know-how to figure out what's wrong with it. I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to fix it for me and how much it might cost?

Replace the switch -- I bet it's just gone tits up.

Ill give that a try. It would be nice if it turned out to be something that simple.

Have you probed it out with a meter? Check to see if the jacks are connected to the ins/outs of the circuit. Make sure everything that's supposed to be connected to power or ground is. Measure the pots to make sure there isn't some weirdness in them.

Sometimes re-heating and adding some fresh solder to wires and such can help. Solder joints can break.
