ABY Splitter... School me.

HAve a recording project coming up, and I need to split my signal to my JMP and V4... eventually live as well.
Anytime I've tried this, I'm greated with a good old fashioned ground loop that I can't shake. Boxes with earth lift on them only seem to transfer the hummmmm from one amp to the other, and back.
Who's making worthy splitters right now that are (A) able to withstand abuse, and (B) are quiet and useful for recording?
Has to be able to do A, B, or both.

Radial makes a pedal that does exactly what you're looking for.

I just ran into the same problem and I ended up making myself more of a signal splitter/mixer. It has one input and two outputs each with their own foot switch. The main difference between it and an ABY is when you have A on and switch B on it doesn't automatically switch A off and vice versa it also allows you to turn both A and B off completely. If you're the DIY type and this sounds interesting let me know and I can post a drawing of the wiring diagram.
If not, I have heard good things about Radial and Lehle and I hope they true 'cuz they 'spensive.

I would like this, it'll be useful pretty soon.

I have a Loop Master ABY box and I love it! No problems with it so far. It took awhile for it to get built and shipped to me but was well worth the wait!

Here's the one I bought:

You talking about the Tonebone Switchbone?
I was looking at that. xformer to isolate ground loops seems like what I need. A lot of money though. damn.

everyone needs to have one of these laying around. works wonders and is very handy to have a shitty clubs where the power is iffy.

Radial makes a bunch of pedals that do this.
Budget/Simple: BigShot ABY -- there's one on TGP right now for $50. it has a phase switch and ground lift.

Middle: Twin-City ABY switcher
Haven't tried it. Costs $200 or so

Top: Switchbone I have one of these but I put the little Bigshot on the board. go figure.
You can snag these used for $150 or so.

Seems like the Twin-City is the way to go. I don't need all those added boost features that are on the Switchbone.
The phase reversal is huge too. I envisioned wiring a speaker cable backwards.
Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Heard good things, and gotten this same recommendation. Lack of switching is a deal-breaker though.

They make a version that will switch, too. Don't know the model name for that one, though. The Lehle stuff is as good as it gets as far as switching goes. The radial stuff is damned good, too. For me they are the only choices for these kinds of devices. You know they are well designed and will work properly.

all the good stuff already been said. I find that radial has some really super high end products mixed in with fake starved plate distortion pedals. so its difficult for me recommend them unless I have experience with specific products. lehle is good stuff though. its cheaper to use the p-split and make a DIY 2 in 2 out mute box.
