Thinking about getting a harmonica mic and running it through a fuzz pedal for some really gritty vocals. Inspired by The Black Keys' cover of She Said, She Said.
What would you guys recommend?

Microsynth is excellent for this purpose. But anything with good mids would do. I used a russian muff and it got too wily when I turned it loud enough to hear the vocals. Start with whatever you have lying around or that you can borrow. Or get a green bullet microphone.

Yea, this may be all you need to do...don't those distort by themselves, without any extra 'stuff'?

Sort'a... really the "classic" sound of the Green Bullet though is it being run though a guitar amp and miced: ou have the oddish sound of the Green Bullet and the sound of a tube amp breaking up

I was going to try a Green Bullet into an overdriven tube mic preamp, yeah.

Funnily enough, here's what I've used to great effect:
Green bullet > Boss DM3 on slapback > Epi Valve JR
sounds

I've used my Torn's Peaker on vocals before and it sounded really awesome. I didn't use a mic though I'm sure that would get horrible feedback at band volume.

I hear using something with a blend on it works pretty good. I'm planning on trying it at my next band practice. I'll let you know how it pans out.
