hi, guys... i have this post-rockish project (one of my projects) and i just recorded a new track that i want to share with you :) if you like it, post a comment and i'll share some more tracks

it's called "Losing Sunrays"

[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/capekjanek/losing-sunrays[/soundcloud]

the story is kinda... weird... basically it's an experiment with layered recording and hardcore panning. There are 16 tracks in this bitch. Main guitar parts were recorded five times and panned differently with different delays and pickup selections. The "extra bits" guitars were recorded four and two times i think, also panned. There's just a little reverb, most of the sound is made by my beautiful delays :)

btw it might sound like a huge Hammock ripoff to you... sorry, i love them and i've always wanted to discover how they make everything sound so DEEP

gear used: Yamaha 302S tele with DiMarzios (twang king/chopper), Crybaby 95Q, EHX Polyphase, Cbread DLS, EQD Disaster Transport, Wampler Faux Tape Echo (those two are THE core of this song) and EHX Holy Grail. no amps, just impulses (this is how i've been "amping" for two years of making my music)

ps: this is the true definition of "side project"... i do it to have fun, to relax and let some emotions flow that i can't let flow in my other projects

NIce sound--it sounds to me more like reverb rather than delay. A bit like Michael Brooks' "infinite guitar." Also reminds me a bit of Dif Juz.

Gorgeous sounds man. I love the non-standard use of fx (such as using delays to get reverb). Really nice.

thanks, guys  :) i was surprised how reverby it is... i think it's the Wampler - i set it for darker echoes with extremely long repeats...

Awesome. Make an album. I'd throw some cash down for a cd.

Hey, guys... you are awesome :) i'm actually thinking about posting my other home project here, more of a... progressive rock stuff... two years of work, i think i'm near 15 tracks done.... the older ones are a bit shitty, BUT... i'm proud of it... so expect a new thread soon

anyway - here's a fun track :) i've been told it sounds like "This Will Destroy You" but by the time i recorded it, i didn't know about them :) features some tasty bass/guitar fuzzage by Black Sovtek Muff

sorry for the annoying crash cymbal... my drum VSTi wasn't really good back then

it's called "Communication Out"

I dig it. :thumb:

A lot of my favorite stuff that I've written comes out of quick improvisation when I'm bored, then turns into something much more. Nice work man. :hello:

thank you :) it's more of an intermezzo or intro thing that a proper song though

that's the only thing i hate about home recording... jamming with other people can be much more inspiring
