I came upon this riff demo while doing an extended jam on the 1958 song Rumble using the STO and the OCD with just the bridge single coil of my stereo strat (I put in a nicer set of handwound pickups made by this guy in TN who sells nice handwound pickups for very low prices).

That guitar has a ton of character now that it's got new pickups.

But anyway, I thought this was a pretty good demo of what you can do by stacking the Singing Tree with an OCD or Danelectro Cool Cat Drive (one of my favorite combos).

STO is very effective at boosting other drive pedals or dirtyish amps in my opinion.

Yeah, ha ha compare to the clean sound there at the beginning. That single coil is not only the bridge pickup but it's also non-angled so it's flat right next to the bridge and only around 6.5k anyway. I love these new pickups, though. They're very dynamic. It's hard to capture fully on a recording but strumming a chord really has this major impact to it.

This is the pickup maker's ebay page, by the way: http://myworld.ebay.com/tmm95&ssPageNam ... X:SELLERID

$110 shipped for a strat set and like $80-90 for a tele set if I recall. I initially got some because i was building a tele out of a $50 body made from 1800s barn rafters and wanted something inexpensive. Boy was i surprised! (That tele sounds amazing, by the way).

That is so heavy! I usually run my OCD into my Singing Tree... I'm going to have to revisit that combo.
