Good parts to have around?

What are some components that you find yourself using a lot?
I don't have any diodes right now :idk:

So what should I stock up on?
I just have a few Transistors NPN and PNP, Resistors of various values, some random caps, and that's about it...

I has one :D

...and yes if I didn't I would be thanking you like no other.

but like ANYTHING would help...I have no idea what else I need more of.
more jacks and pots I bet.

Also is it better to give the extra 30 cents or so to buy stereo jacks or should I just buy a few of each?

Mono jacks, 100 .1 and 1uF caps, a zillion resistors, 4001 and 1n914 diodes, 2n5089 transistors, dc jacks, 3pdt fs, dpdt toggles (on off on).

This, plus 100K pots.

What do you guys recommend for stocking up? I need some of all the basic values of resistors and caps, and maybe pots. Most kits look either useless or they're too big. I'd love something with, like, 10 of each value of resistor. Not 100. D :

Yeah 100kA pots rule!

In the long run, $3 for 200 resistors is better than like $.18/resistor or whatever, ya know?
I try to use PP+ for small amounts of resistors I'd they have them in stock, after that it's smallbear.

I usually use Mouser... I'd use smallbear but I usually run out and need 'em quick. Mammoth is good for that, though... And PPP is great since they'll ship first class on small orders.

I buy any value I use regularly by the 200s. I just want a bunch of values for prototyping, and that would get expennnnsive quick.
