Help me buy a (hot) P90 Bridge Pick Up
So I have a Squire Custom Tele with P-rails at the moment (in the bridge) and stock P90s in the neck. They both sound incredible. Infact I just recorded using the humbuckers in the P-rails and the tone sounds monstrous. However, it keeps getting shorted out. I ended up recording with the hums because the P-rail 90s weren't working and even the humbucker was cutting in and out. I've had this problem 3-4 times now and I am sick of getting it fixed.
So i'm looking to replace the bridge with a P-90, something that can get me really warm and heavy tones but is still somewhat twangy. Sorta like Barkmarket: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuw4AoGLup4
I've heard good things about lollar. Any other recommendations?

I'd go for Lollar as well. Now, I haven't PLAYED one, but as far as super-positive references and customer service, they've been great. I was going to replace the neck pickup in my Tele as well (have since decided against), but my final decision was for a Lollar P-90.

I hear great things too, but the folks on the gear page mentioned if I wanted something heavy the lollar might not be a good choice for me.

Bareknuckles.
Tim's into a lot of heavy stuff so he's probably got something for you.

Good Suggestions^. I'll throw out the Vintage Vibe p90's. The magnet choice you make will be the "heavy factor". You can get his pickups with any magnet, and he includes an alternate magnet you can change later yourself.. I have a set w/ a2 and a3 mags. KILLER tone.

You may want to check out a Joe Barden soapbar for something a bit different:

Thanks for all the suggestions! This has been so helpful!
Now, one last question. I still want to keep some of my bright tele twang (which I was able to do with my p-rails 90 side of it), I'm afraid some of the pick ups like the les paul and bare knuckles will give me more of a bark or a darker humbucker style sound. Which ones should I be looking more closely at then?
