For a Good Time Call Wolf Computer + El Capistan

I haven't really heard people pairing the Wolf Computer with delay pedals on here much (unless I missed it), so I thought I'd share a combo of two of my favorite pedals.

Setup is American Standard Strat > Wolf Computer Beta > El Capistan > Dr Z Maz 18 (mics are audix d3 and sm57 panned 30% to each side).

Try getting lost in a mix with that sound.

Really cool sounds V! Makes we want to get an El Capistan even more. :)

Here's a track I did where my WC is modulated in Reason. If you listen closely you can hear the WC but it gets a little crazy. The WC + Modulation kicks in around the 1:08 mark. I know modulation isn't really 'delay' but the way this is modulated there is a lovely clamoring mess of sounds that are sort of like delay. :p :idk:

Wow that sounds awesome. What sort of modulation is that? Some kind of extreme chorus + reverb?

I find it fascinating that the wolf is used for a lot of different stuff. It's great for chiptune-related music but the sound I posted I mainly use in like rock solos and even in avant garde jazz/fusion. People usually comment that it reminds them of frank zappa when I solo with the wolf.

The WC is great for chiptune related music. Love me some Zappa. Very cool!

Not sure if I can explain the modulation very accurately because it was an experimental happy accident. The WC is basically routed through several Malstrom's, a couple LFO's are used and some reverb. There is heavy automation on that whole part and knobs are turning like crazy. I hadn't looked at this actual song file for a long time and am kinda baffled at how everything actually comes together but yeah... in generalities that's what I did.

Here's another one:

This time I'm running a Moog Slim Phatty into the Wolf (the bass part is also the moog with an el capistan on it and the bass drum is also mostly the moog).

You have some really wonderful toys! I really want an El Capistan and a Moog Slim Phatty! That WC in the last track is so recognizable. I love it how the WC is great for all different types of musical styles but it has this quality about it where it sticks out like a sore thumb, but in a good way!
