Analog Delay for Psichedelia and Desert Rock

I have a DD5 Boss Digital delay and it makes me bad with his digital taste with clean and distorted sounds ... it had been an old purchase ... probably an old mistake ...

Anyway I have been lookin for a simple and warm delay , no bix box like because i don't have enough space on the board ( it should replace the dd5 ).. to play psichedelia and desert Rock .

Budget max 180 $$

Any suggestion?

EQD Disaster Transport Jr.? :) it's not analog, it's digital, but it's absolutely analog-y

Get a Memory Boy. Sounds like that is all you need and it is cheap! Great sounding delay with cool weirdness lurking beneath.

I'll second the Memory Boy, or the Memory Boy Deluxe which hits your max price, can prob find a used one cheaper tho. Tons of trippy delay goodness, I dig it with an expression pedal. If you want simple and great sounding the MXR Carbon Copy will do the trick.

I found the Carbon Copy to be a little too mild. Like the effect was barely noticable.

I have an original Ibanez AD9 that takes the edge off. You can still get the reissue.

I just figured this out too. It is great with clean guitars and slapback but if you throw dirt into it it just washes over and you can't make it out.

I got a deluxe memory boy with tap tempo and the expression jack (I use a moog expression pedal) and it IS awesome.

Glad I am not alone on this one! Hahaha

Get a Boss DM-2!! It's an incredible machine. Way better than any other small box delay. Ibanez AD-9 and the Aqua Puss MkII are also great pedals, but not as the DM-2.

Only the old Ibanez AD-80 could be better, but it's pricey, and it runs with 18v.

+1 on the AD-80. I forgot that is what I have. These and the DM2/DM3 are way too expensive these days.

This is exactly what I was going to say. I feel like the prices on the DM-2 have dropped too. AD-9 would be good too. I was not a fan of the Memory Boy at all. It's cool for wacky sounds, but I'll pass if I have to use it as a delay.

Ooooor save up a little more for a Deluxe Memory Man? One of the sexiest sounding analog delays I've ever played. pumpkinpieces demo'ed a Behringer Vintage Time Machine (cheap DMM clone) that would be more accessible. I'd be interested to hear the VM1 a/b'ed against a DMM.

Side note: I think it's funny that Desert Rock is a genre. Love the music, but it still makes me smile whenever I think of it.

Many thanks guys , I don't have enough space on my board for a Memory Man ... I own a DD3 too and I was nice but I have been looking for a sweeter tone , more natural and warm . I don't need long delay time ... I'll use delay with clean and crunch ... but a little bit more with crunch .
