Guitar Wiring Questions w/pickup questions

I was playing with my guitar last night and I got thinking, what would happen if I were to wire it up so that I only ran the pickups through one volume pot instead of the four knob, two tone, two volume setup? Would I get a better frequency response out of my pickups? Would it be louder? Would nature itself abhor this aberration?

And I've been toying around with the idea of switching out my current guitar pickups. Two stock humbuckers on a squire tele. With a dream 180 and a mean 90 from guitar fetish:

I've been trying to a get some boomy tones that punch through, both clean and with fuzz, that still lets me get jangly if I feel like it.

They'll be a lot brighter... Maybe even too bright.

i never liked tone knobs.

also you would have extra holes for stuff like killswitches and coiltaps and phase switches if you wanted

It would be brighter, I have a univox Gimme with a Duncan SH6 and and EMG HZ and I took out the one tone pot and volume pot , it is brighter just like that.
The holes are annoying but I am pretty sure you could stuff a pedal in for built in effects.

I very rarely use a tone control with humbuckers so that might be the next thing to go.

I think their is a reason Music man guitars just have the volume (other than Eddie)

The dream 180's are nice.

I use my tone control to get diff sounds from diff pedals/the guitar itself. I'll be keeping mine.

This is kinda my thinking. Whenever I play around with my knobs in a band situation I usually forget that I was playing around with the knobs and start messing with my pedals 'cause I think they're the problem

I'll try it on the current bridge pickup. The neck pickup on this guitar is pretty good, quiet but it sounds good enough, but the bridge pickup sounds like a cocked wah thing with very low output. If it's unbearably bright I'll just wire the tone knob back in.
