Can you make a standard Fuzzface oscillate?

I have a JH2 Hendrix fuzz by Dunlop. It's basically a redbox Fuzzface though. I'm thinking anything with Germanium can be made to oscillate. A Fuzz Factory's like a more complex Fuzzface with boost and oscillation, right? So can it be done?/Who wants to do it for cheap?

Also,I want to have it painted/re-designed to look like this:

You can fuck with bias and gain to make almost anything oscillate. The germanium doesn't really have that much to do with it (as far as I know).
But I think the easiest way to introduce oscillation is through controlled output > input feedback. It could be controlled via pot, toggle switch, or even a momentary footswitch. Or a pot + switch.

Thank you, culturejam. I don't know that I will be attempting this mod myself just yet. I AM getting a soldering iron to be used for learning the ropes. I'm actually hoping to get someone to make this happen for me.

I guess I never really answered your original question.
No, you can't make a standard Fuzz Face oscillate. You have to modify the circuit, which makes it not standard anymore. But maybe that's being too literal.

The Fuzz Factory is similar to a Fuzz Face with a boost up front...which is also quite similar to a MKII Tonebender.

The controls Gate, Comp, and Stab are somewhat arbitrary names. Gate controls the collector bias of Q2, Comp messes with the emitter bias of Q3, and Stab is what is commonly known as a "sag" control on the entire circuit. So basically, Stab skanks with the bias of everything at once, and when you have Gate and/or Comp tweaked a certain way, you get a lot of feedback which leads to oscillation.
You could do those same bias mods to a Fuzz Face (but then it would cease to be a Fuzz Face). It might not sound exactly the same, but it would be close.

Even with all the flack we give him, I'll admit I fucking love zvex for the fuzz factory.

It's a damn-cool pedal, for sure. He's a fucking assram, but he makes some cool pedals. Not everybody can be cool.

ZV is a universe cooler than Mike Fuller. He is creative, for a start.
The "flaming death" mod on this Beavis Audio how-to is a feedback loop.
http://www.beavisaudio.com/Projects/Fuz ... ods_V2.gif The ZVex method is roughly a combination of a booster and FF in one box with some things on pots that would be fixed resistors in a more tame universe. Freestompboxes has a mega thread in the Boutique Circuit Analysis forum.
