Strap Locks, Yay or Nay?

Just wondering if those of you who play live on a regular basis are using strap locks and if so, what brand? My guitars are all equipped with oversize strap buttons which do a great job as long as your not slinging your guitar around like a maniac or spending more time on acrobatics than the song you're playing.
I used to use Schaller but had one fail so I'm a bit turned off by the locks. I actually had the nut on the strap piece loosen up once and off came my guitar. Maybe I should have used some lock-tight when installing that portion. That was a couple years back but that paranoia is hard to shake after having a guitar almost smash onto the ground, find myself checking and re-checking my strap pretty obsessively.

I hate them. Destroyed too many strap screw holes and are unreliable.
Now I attach my strap with duct tape. Never been so peaceful!

Fuck those things! We hates it...
I use Grolsch washers on slip-prone basses though.

Planet waves makesa a strap that locks onto the strap pegs (or whatever they're called) on your guitar.

I bought my guitar with straplocks. I will NEVER own another guitar without them.

Nay. Neigh. Grolsch or split plastic washers. Never had an accident. Well, none involving my guitars.

I just checked my guitar, I have Dunlop Straplocks. And they're honestly great.

I've tried many different ones. Back a few years ago I needed them a lot more (doing stupid aerial tricks and running all over like a madman)
The schaller and dunlop straplocks are good, they'll get the job done. But the DiMarzio is the
absolute best. I've seen everything else but these fail.

If you're on a budget, duct tape and/or gaffers tape work great

Dunblop and Schaller make pretty good straplocks. I just put the same straplocks on all the guitars and then straps are interchangeable. Put them on the strap and leave it there -- you'll knacker it if you keep changing them round.
But those little washer things work pretty well too, and the little Dunlop caps work too.

I, also, use rubber washers. All my friends freaked out when I could still throw my guitar/bass around like an idiot without janky straplocks.
I used to use DiMarzio straps. Those things are pretty rad if your looking for sheer abuse.

I'll have to check the washer thing out. I also hate having to sacrifice a good strap by installing those damn locking deals, they don't bounce back well if you decide to remove.
As for the DiMarzio, that's actually a pretty good design, haven't seen those before. Look a bit ridiculous, however, very logical in their design. More than I'd ever need, but for all you guitar slingers out there, guitar spin and karate kick away! I think your guitar will still be attached no matter what happens with this one.

I have the DiMarzio strap on my SG. All of my Fenders have oversized strap buttons.
