Raw ass funk. Primo backing band too, some of the best parts of Sly & The Family Stone and Graham Central Station, not to mention Neil Schon. Also, The Pointer Sisters on backup vox.

Her records are awesome - amazing reissues as well. I think the 'unreleased' album, Is It Love Or Desire is great as well. I love the backing band so much, so tight and such a great sound. Probably one of the most attractive women I have ever seen to boot.

Go burn in the fires of Hell.
That's worse than bringing up Bullet For My Valentine when someone is talking about My Bloody Valentine(and I know that's happened to every one of us).

Oh, it is a good song. Betty Davis is just one of those very difficult artists to talk about without somebody totally mistaking her for someone else.
I'm sorry I was so harsh. You know I love ya baby. It's just when I get to drinkin' that I get angry. And I only hitcha because I love ya so much. You know that, don't you? /emotionally manipulative pimp

what the world really needed was a musical throwdown between Betty Davis and Millie Jackson. i'd have paid real US dollars to see that. too funky for the EPA.

East Bay funk, y'all.

Millie Jackson is some fuckin' tight shit.... I was helping my mother in law clean out her basement last year and among other things (like Pink Floyd bootlegs and some Moondog LPs) I came across a fantastic copy of Caught Up and The Flirtations LP...... what a fine day...... I love free records that are awesome.......
