If you want a Mustang with a hard tail, just get a Duo Sonic or a Music Master and mod away!

yea....they're great fun. go with the duo sonic or music master (as elbandito mentioned) if you're going to mod it in that manner...it'll be easier for ya.

I taped down the slider switches on my Mustang. They're in the most annoying spot ever. I say go with the MM or Duo... the MM only has one pup and the duo has a JM-style toggle switch that's nice and out-of-the-way.
Oh, you should also consider the Bronco: the pickguard is shaped differently and I think the body is not exactly the same as the Mustang but they're great guitars, have hard tails (and sometimes trems) and are fun to mod!
