Kraftwerk basically invented electronic music and techno/electronica would not exist as a genre if not for them.
Their first two albums are basically jammy krautrock. They started getting into electronics on Ralf und Florian, which came out in 1973. This is the song I usually think of off that album:

After that, they came out with Autobahn, you might have heard the title track before, it was pretty well known. 22 minutes of minimoog, german vocals, and awesomeness.
Then came a string of fucking awesome albums that created electronic music.
