blahhh... OD is not for me.

I think I hate overdrive. Just sayin'.
The closest thing to overdrive that I've used and enjoyed are the Singing Tree and the Dirty channel of the CC/DC. I used to use a Boss SD1, but I was running that into a semi-dirty Orange amp, so it was not really overdrive-y. Even with the Tree, I usually keep the gain dimed and just use the threshold to open it up a little.
So yeah... anybody not really into OD?

...though these days I'm mostly fuzz or a boosted amp, OD has a place.

It has it's place. I tend to prefer OD rammed with fuzz, or a dirtier od on the verge of fuzz/tortion.
bring on the "...I'd rather just use a fuzz"

I dunno, I like smooth OD like the Pork Loin. OD to fuzz is like clean to dirty. Kind of.
It's nice to use it for a change of pace sometimes.

My Dead Hipster is an OD and it kicks ass after the Algal Bloom and into the Snowdrift...

I love my OCD. I use it more than my fuzz. I do not like that Boss pedal at all. I bought my OCD and compared the two and was blown away how the Boss does hardly anything to the guitar in comparison to the OCD. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. Like it's sound more than the most over-rated other pedals out there, being the fucking Tube Screamer and Klon. Those both suck a ball. LICK LICK

I used to have a crate BV60. The OD on that thing is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice, I would sometimes not even use a fuzz for gain.
I looooooove that amp

I can't stand the sound of a Tube Screamer...
But I like OD... I'm using an Hydra by Liquid Gain.
Fuzzy Lady by Plum Crazy FX into the Hydra is a good combo.
But Octron by Foxrox into the Hydra is killer!!!
And my secret weapon... fuzz into wah into OD.
I prefer OD to distortion, more byte!!

Overdrives always seem like a lukewarm proposition to me. If I want it more naturalistic, I'd rather go to a clean boost. If I want to add some distinct sort of hair, I'd rather add distortion or fuzz. Including using fuzz at milder settings or with the guitar volume rolled back. Much more interesting to me.
I do have a TS but I rarely use it, and always in combination with other dirt when I do.

I don't like overdrive or distortion. Fuzz or nothing god dammit.
At least when it comes to pedals. Natural amp distortion rules.

My ideal overdrive is something real sharp but short, so I can really dig into the strings. Kinda like the tone on Placebo's Every You Every Me. I'm actually running my guitar through a cranked solid state bass amp with treble maxed, it sounds very raw. Tube screamers don't do it at all for me. Hate the mid bump.
