... but i'm not sure what... so help me out here! i'm trying to make something simpler/more useable for a large range of users, since i feel like my pedals up to this point have been pretty niche/application specific? i'm thinking of pricing both of them at $150.

mountain range:
low end heavy boost to low gain overdrive/fuzz.
3 knobs: gain, hi-cut, volume. 1 switch: od/fuzz
(maybe an internal HPF to tame some of the low end if you needed to?)

unnamed fuzz:
heavy sustain-y fuzz. simple.
4 knobs: fuzz, tone, mids, volume. 1 switch: clipping

neither?

Hehe... I know which designs i'd vote for...

But for now i'll say Mountain Range, for a cheaper pedal with a wider audience I think that sounds cool.

I'd say some kind of High Gainer with an Inbuilt Optical Gate for me personally but that's probably going way past the $150 mark.

What happened to that seasick-sounding merry-go-round thing you were working on?

all in good time... ;)
hmmm high gain with optical gate? maybe i can revamp the fuzz a bit to incorporate that. i don't think it would bump it too far past if i can keep the parts down. let me think about it.

still happening but it will take some more time. also falls into the "niche" category... AND bummer, z vex is coming out with something similar - "instant lofijunky". i can't wait to hear about how i ripped it off. :yay:

Yeah I saw that... and knowing he watches the boards, I question where he might have gotten the idea from... I posted about something simmilar over a year ago on a forum he frequents and as did you post your idea... damn free market research.

It's okay though, I think teej12 said he'd seen it at NAMM and it wasn't all that.

Although you haven't said it specifically; when I think of a 4 knob "heavy sustaining simple" fuzz with mids I think of a number of several muff based fuzzes already on the market that you'd have to compete with.

If you're gonna stick with the fuzz for your next release, why not add something intermodulating/crossover to the lineup? Something less wacky then the 4545 but crazier than the TAFM? I'm thinking of the P&C and Four-Eyed Fuzz, as examples.

true, but then again, anything i release competes with everything anyways!

Well I'm not sure if I can think of anything that competes with the TAFM and the 4545. But I'm also dumb you see.

I'm leaning towards "something else," yet have no thoughts on what that should be

I'd be interested in the patchable delay pedal you built that is in some of your vids. I think that concept is pretty unique to guitar delay pedals or really to any guitar related effects
